12. Are You on the List? Tips for a Fulfilling Work-Life Balance

When You’ve Tried Everything and There’s Still No Work-Life Balance

Let's talk about all those balls you juggle every day.

Many of us feel like we're dropping a lot of those balls these days, so how do we manage our work, health, families, and social lives? And hobbies — what are those?

Can we do ALL OF THESE THINGS in ways that actually work?

While you might feel like you just need to be more efficient, make lists, or put more effort into your day — you know that can't be it after waking up at 5 am after going to sleep after midnight. After all, maybe you could get it all done if you only needed less sleep.

This isn't the answer.

We've tried all these things and nothing is working.

It's exhausting us and we're feeling overwhelmed.

So what actually does work?

A few years ago (and most of my life up until that point), whatever was the loudest need was what got done.

📣 No food in the house — I'd go grocery shopping.

📣 If one of my kids was yelling louder, that's the one who got attention.

📣 If I pulled a shoulder muscle, I'd pay attention.

Whatever was the loudest or the most painful thing got my attention.

You and I both know this is a recipe for overwhelm and burnout.

If you feel like your priorities keep falling off your to-do list, you'll love what you'll learn this week:

  • How to identify what's really important so you can make decisions based on your true values instead of constantly reacting to others' demands.

  • Learning to say "no" to things that don't align with your priorities, even if it feels uncomfortable or you're afraid of judgement.

  • Strategies for setting boundaries, including scheduling personal time and work hours to prevent burnout and find harmony

  • Why we tend to overestimate our capacity and end up overcommitting — and what to do about it.

  • The key thing most productivity books are missing and what you can do instead.

  • A specific and useful process to help you prioritize your tasks for the week.
